Making a Difference

Collaborative Borders© provides authorities with insights into developing situations, trends, patterns and habits across multiple industries through the virtual integration of globally dispersed systems. Data, from a multitude of databases maintained by existing agencies, is transformed, analyzed and presented to government and business decision makers. Our proactive, innovative approach provides information about potential threats to America - its people, places of interest, and its resources - without compromising an individual's right to privacy.

Our Collaborative Borders initiative was originally designed to facilitate data-sharing between Government Agencies and Private Industry in order to improve the safety and efficiency of the Trucking and Transport Industry. It was our goal to craft a system that would alert authorities and businesses about degrading conditions, impediments, bottlenecks, and congestion through the analysis of data already collected and maintained by Federal, State, and Local Governments, as well as private industry.

After the horrific events of September 11th, Governor Tom Ridge, Assistant to the President for Homeland Security, stated on several occasions that "… the sharing of data is key to homeland security." No one, it appeared, had a solution. Most articles and television broadcasts focused on the impediments to data sharing, such as:

  • Geographic: state to state or county to county
  • Political: the inward focused FBI and the external looking CIA
  • Legal: laws enacted to enforce and protect individuals' rights to privacy
  • Technical: incompatibility of databases or platforms preventing the collection of data or analysis of information

As the myriad of discussions progressed we began to see parallels between the impediments to National Security and those we had conquered for the Trucking and Transport Industry. Suddenly, it was clear: we had already created a soft shell solution that can quickly and effectively be leveraged to help solve this massive problem. We immediately began to enhance and expand Collaborative Borders to fully meet this incredible need.
