Designed to support data and information sharing, Collaborative Borders^© provides the framework that virtually integrates and aggregates the critical data and information for transportation management and security for inter-modal, cross-border transportation. The initiative addresses the issues of data access and interoperability between systems in a framework that enables information sharing between government agencies and, when required, with the private sector. Collaborative Borders addresses both process and technology issues, and its open architecture provides for easy scalability and the incorporation of new technologies and processes over time.
